Your interests are there for a reason.
Sometimes we can lose sight of our true interests by unconsciously living life the same way we always have, influenced by societal expectations and social norms.
Our interests are unique to us, I believe they are connected to our purpose. If you have an interest why not explore it?
It could bring you more physical movement, a career change, community, fun, whatever your interest is its been planted in you to bring you home to your highest, most fulfilled version.
They live in our heart, wanting to be explored, they will keep nudging you, waiting to be heard.
My decision to start writing on Substack stemmed from my desire to build a community where I could share topics that genuinely interest me. I suppose it began as I explored my spirituality and connection with the universe, my faith, if you like. When you follow your heart, it will continue to lead you to the next thing; you just have to allow yourself to be led.
From a young age, I always felt strongly connected to something higher than myself. Mystical things always intrigued me! My mum had a massive folder full of all things astrological, and I would sit and read through it for hours. I didn’t quite understand what my moon sign meant or why the placements of the planets affect us, but I was drawn to it, and so it led me on. I was then introduced by a client of mine to the book ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne.
When I read that book it was like a euphoric moment for me. It was as if it was the missing puzzle piece to something I had been waiting to find to bring me closer to my highest self. Everything changed for me after that. My mindset became better, my outlook on life improved, I believed in myself more and so I began to explore it further.
If there’s something that you want to explore but haven’t, it’s never too late. If you feel like you want a change, a new interest, a very simple way to do this is to get to know YOU. You might be thinking but I already know me. What’s this gal on about it?
Sometimes getting to know you again requires some scheduling. Our daily routines can feel like a military operation. Or it's like we're on autopilot, repeating the same routine each day, leaving little time for self-reflection.
Set time out for yourself and get honest about what it is you want.
You could even do a good old fashioned bubble map!
Write your name in the middle and stem of all the things you like. Then, based on those, write how you can incorporate those things into your life more. For example, a recent one of mine was netball. I enjoyed netball in school, so I googled a club near me and went. Now, I’m loving life playing netball again. It brings me movement, fun, and a sense of community. I know it’s not easy to try new things, BUT being uncomfortable is where our growth lives. Say it with me - We are thriving in 2024.
BIG LOVES
